COMPANY HISTORY

Signs Etc, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, has proudly served the greater Charlotte region for more than 25 years. The company has been locally owned and operated since inception. Signs Etc manufactures and installs a wide variety of quality sign solutions for customers nationwide within all industries. The company's 48,000 square foot facility has been designed to manufacture high quality signage with very short production/delivery times.


Formal operations began for Signs Etc out of a residential garage. The company initially focused on producing hand routed signage for the local home building and golf course industries.


The company grew at a strong pace in the 1980's moving into larger facilities on 3 separate occasions, eventually settling into a 9,000 sq ft. shop in 1989. The company had grown to from 6 employees to 15 employees. It's capabilities had increased to include a fully enabled woodshop (including sandblasting), screenprinting area and paint department.


Signs Etc built its metal fabrication shop, enabling the company to produce lighted boxes, routed metal signs and variety of other sign solutions. Signs Etc remains a local and regional leader in metal fabricated signage ever since its inception.


Signs Etc. expands its product offering with the introduction of regulatory traffic control solutions. Signs Etc partners with various public and private entities to provide regulatory traffic control solutions.


The company relocated to its current location in Charlotte (4044 South Blvd), occupying 20,000 square feet and employing a staff of 25.


Signs Etc. expands the traffic control product line and enters the designer traffic control market. The product line includes a variety of decorative bases, poles and finials. The company quickly becomes the local and regional leader for this offering.


Recognizing that the sign industry was quickly moving to the digital era, Signs Etc purchased two large format flatbed Zund digital machines. This capability provided the company a distinct competitive advantage over its competitors. Each machine is capable of processing 1" thick substrates up to 72" in width.


Two key events have occurred in this period:

• Signs Etc completed its latest facilities expansion by moving into an adjacent building. This expansion combined with the existing 4044 South Blvd location, provides the company with 48,000 square feet, including a new showroom to exhibit all the company's product lines and capabilities. The company currently has 31 employees.
  
  
• On the equipment front, Signs Etc recently acquired an inkjet solvent print printer/cutter which provides the ability to deliver high resolution graphics (1440 x 1440 dpi). The machine is ideal for interior displays, trade show displays, large scale graphics, and vehicle wraps.
